Brian Cearns
Director of Football Communications

Biography

Brian Cearns is entering his 12th season with the Falcons and his third as director of football communications. Cearns has utilized his skill-set to handle a wide variety of responsibilities for the Falcons football communications department throughout the years. During the season, he formulates the weekly media schedule for the department and provides media support for General Manager Thomas Dimitroff, Head Coach Dan Quinn, quarterback Matt Ryan, other members of coaching staff and players. He serves as the primary media contact for the opposing team and the broadcasting network in addition to overseeing the distribution of home game credentials. His weekly duties also include coordinating the open locker room period, as well as head coach and players’ weekly conference calls and network production meetings.

In addition, Cearns serves as the point person for all incoming national media requests. He also produces talking and messaging points for Dimitroff, Quinn, players and the coaching staff. Cearns also monitors all media availability to ensure that NFL guidelines are observed.

Beginning with the Falcons in 2006, Cearns also served as the Football Communications contact for Arthur Blank’s Arena Football team (Georgia Force). He is a 2005 graduate of Kennesaw State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport Management.
