CAREER

The two-time Pro Bowler from the University of Memphis has been a key contributor for the Kansas City Chiefs since being drafted in 2012. The 346-pound, former first round selection has recorded 202 total tackles in 78 games played – 76 started – while also recording 13 sacks, 12 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Scored his first career rushing touchdown on a one-yard run against San Diego in Qualcomm Stadium on 11/22/15, making him the heaviest player in NFL history to find the end zone.

In 2013, Poe was selected to his first career Pro Bowl. That season he recorded 4.5 sacks and 52 total tackles – 43 solo – along with four passes defensed. He followed that year up with another Pro Bowl selection in 2014, while posting a career high six sacks and 46 total tackles.

Was named second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press following the 2013 season.

Earned Kansas City’s Mack Lee Hill Award as the team’s top rookie or first-year player after recording 38 tackles (28 solo), including three for loss, three QB pressures and four passes defensed in 2012.

COLLEGE

Became the third first-round draft selection in Memphis football history ... Saw action in 35 games (30 starts) in three seasons with the Tigers.

Started all 12 games as a junior in 2011. Named to The NFL Draft Report’s All-America Dream Team as the scouting information service rated him as the best down lineman eligible for the 2012 NFL Draft.

Named a second-team All-Conference USA choice and was named the Tigers’ Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year.

Started all 12 games at left defensive tackle as a sophomore in 2010. Earned All-Conference USA honorable mention accolades.

PERSONAL

Attended Wooddale High School in Memphis, Tenn., where he was a two-star prospect who ranked 19th on the Rivals.com Tennessee Top 20 List.

Added all-state honors from Tennessee Football Magazine and was an All-Shelby County and Class 5A All-Region VIII selection for the Cardinals in 2007, posting 63 tackles with 8.0 sacks during his junior campaign.

Named a Best of the Preps All-Metro selection in track as a junior after capturing the shot put title for Class 3-A at the state meet with a throw of 56-3.25.

Defended his title as a senior with a throw of 54-1.25 and also won the discus event in the state meet with a throw of 156-1 while claiming city, district and region track titles.
