2015 (falcons)



Played in all 16 games with four starts in his first year with the Falcons. Collared 15 tackles (14 solo) with three sacks and one fumble recovery.

Notched his first sack of the season at Dallas (9/27), dropping QB Brandon Weeden for a three yard loss on the Cowboys final drive. Added two tackles and one tackle for loss.

Started at defensive end and logged two tackles and two quarterback hits against Washington (10/11). Helped the Falcons defense hold the Redskins to 51 rushing yards and 2.1 yards per carry.

Saw action on the defensive line at New Orleans (10/15). Posted two tackles and his second sack of the season, dropping QB Drew Brees for an eight-yard loss.

Posted his third sack of the season, dropping QB Blake Bortles for a seven-yard loss at Jacksonville (12/20). Also added one tackle.

Played in one game in 2014 before being placed on injured reserve in 2014.

Started all 16 games and recorded a career-high with 64 tackles, including 19 for loss, six sacks, and two forced fumbles in 2013. His 19 tackles for loss that season ranked fourth in the NFL behind DE Robert Quinn (23), DE J.J. Watt (22), and LB Lavonte David (20). Added 14.5 run stuffs, which tied for the NFL lead, with David and Watt, according to STATS, LLC.

Started the first three games of the 2012 season before seeing the year cut short by injury.

As a rookie in 2011, started all 16 game and posted 54 tackles (26 solo), 7.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles.


College



Was a two-time team captain that started in 37 of 50 games played, including his last 30 games during his Iowa career (2007-10). He recorded 192 tackles to go with 19.0 sacks, 37.5 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery while earning All-Big Ten honors following his junior and senior seasons.


Personal

Attended Webster Groves High School where he was a four-year letterman and team captain. Recorded 240 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles and three interceptions on defense in his career, while adding 42 receptions for 691 yards (16.45 ypc) and 10 touchdowns on offense.

Racked up 103 tackles with three sacks, a forced fumble and an interception as a senior while earning all-state and all-conference honors as a linebacker and tight end. Was named the Missouri Player of the Year.
