Started 13 games at linebacker and recorded 92 total tackles (53 solo), one sack and two fumble recoveries. Started at linebacker and recorded 12 tackles (five solo). Recovered a fumble in overtime that setup Atlanta’s game winning field goal. Started and recorded a career high 15 total tackles (six solo) at Baltimore (10/19).

Saw action in all 16 games with 13 starts during his rookie season in 2013. Ranked third on the team with 96 total tackles (53 solo) while tying for the club lead with seven tackles for loss. Also added 3.5 sacks and one pass defense. His 3.5 sacks are the second most by an undrafted rookie in team history trailing Buddy Moor, who tallied four sacks in 1987 (sacks became an official stat in 1982). Led all NFL undrafted rookies with 3.5 sacks in 2013.

College

Earned All-WAC second team honors after posting 95 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks in 2012. Closed out his collegiate career with 62 tackles in his final four games, including 17 tackles and four sacks in a win over New Mexico State.

Personal

Earned first-team All-District honors at tight end and linebacker at Waller High School. Son of Ester Jackson. His brother Wellington Deshield also played at Texas State. He majored in exercise and sports science.
