2012 (FALCONS)

Started all 16 games, seeing action at both defensive tackle and end in 2012. Totaled 42 tackles (33 solo) with 3.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, once fumble recovery and five passes defensed. Anchored a defensive line that produced 46 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, which ranked tied for seventh in the NFL. Collected four tackles (two solo) along with a sack and a fumble recovery in Atlanta's Divisional playoff win over Seattle (1/13). Sacked QB Russell Wilson on a third-down play at the Falcons six-yard line in Atlanta's NFC Divisional win over Seattle (1/13). Babineaux's sack allowed the clock to run out and kept the Seahawks off of the scoreboard at the end of the first half. Posted a season high seven tackles (five solo), on sack and a pass defense against Dallas (11/4). Recovered a fumble and returned it 15 yards for his second career touchdown against Arizona (11/18). Also added a pair of solo tackles in the win. Posted his first career interception, picking off Saints QB Drew Brees and notching two tackles in a win over New Orleans (11/29). Collected two tackles, a half of a sack, one tackle for loss, one pass defensed and one forced fumble against Chicago (10/18). Notched a season-high 11 tackles, a career-game-high 2.5 sacks and three tackles for loss versus Washington (11/8). 2008 (FALCONS)

Started 15 of 16 contests and tallied 38 tackles (30 solo), 3.5 sacks for a loss of 26.5 yards, one forced fumble and two passes defensed. Registered a season-high five tackles vs. Chicago (10/12). Notched one tackle and one fumble recovery at Oakland (11/2) for a defense that allowed a franchise-low three first downs in the contest. Posted two tackles, 1.5 sacks (10.5 yards) and one pass defensed at San Diego (11/30). The sacks marked his second-career multiple-sack game. Started in Atlanta’s Wild Card meeting at Arizona (1/3/09) and tallied three tackles (two solo).

2007 (FALCONS)

Totaled 53 tackles (37 solo) while adding a season-high three sacks and two forced fumbles. Also recorded one fumble recovery and notched two passes defensed. Started at defensive tackle and collared a career-high two sacks at Jacksonville (9/16) in addition to posting two tackles and one forced fumble. Collared seven tackles at Tampa Bay (12/16) for a defensive unit that allowed a season-low 109 passing yards. Led all defensive linemen with a career-high eight tackles and one pass defensed at Arizona (12/23) for a defensive unit that allowed only 76 rushing yards. Posted five tackles, one sack (eight yards), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery vs. Seattle (12/30) for a defense that produced three turnovers in the 44–41 victory.

2006 (FALCONS)

Saw action in 16 games with one start and tallied 38 tackles to go along with one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed. Started at defensive tackle for an injured Rod Coleman (toe) vs. Pittsburgh (10/22) and posted five tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and his first-career forced fumble. Tallied two tackles and his first career interception (six yards) at Detroit (11/5).

2005 (FALCONS)

Played in all 16 games, including six starts (Weeks 9-14) at right defensive end and recorded 36 tackles, one fumble recovery, one half-sack and one pass defensed. Posted one tackle and one fumble recovery in his first career game vs. Philadelphia (9/12). Recorded two tackles and a half of a sack in his second career start vs. Green Bay (11/13).

COLLEGE

Four-year letterman at Iowa, starting 31 of 42 games and recording 131 tackles, 19 sacks, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one interception. Earned All-America and first-team All-Big 10 honors as the team’s Most Valuable Player on defense after leading the Conference with 11 sacks as a senior. Also named the recipient of the Big 10 Conference Sportsmanship Award.

PERSONAL

Lettered in football, baseball and basketball at Lincoln (Port Arthur, TX) High School. First-team All-Conference linebacker and team captain as a senior, while also competing at defensive end, fullback and punter. Also a member of the number one ranked basketball team in the state of Texas. Jonathan’s brother, Jordan, is a defensive back for the Seattle Seahawks. He is the youngest of five children. Born Jonathan Babineaux on October 12, 1981 in Port Arthur, Texas.
