2013 (Falcons)

Played in 15 games with four starts while racking up 673 total yards on 148 touches with four total touchdowns. Rushed for 322 yards on 96 carries with two touchdowns. Also added 52 receptions for 341 yards and two scores. Served as the Falcons primary kick returner in 2013 totaling 575 yards on 25 kickoffs and averaging 23.0 yards per return. Finished as the game’s leading rusher, posting a career-high 86 yards on 18 carries (4.8 yards per carry) at Miami (9/22). Also caught two passes for seven yards. Ran for 43 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns vs. the New York Jets (10/7), including a season-long 19-yard score, marking his first career multi-touchdown game. College

Was the focal point of the Oregon State offense since his arrival in 2008, earning touches not only in the ground game, but in the passing attack as well. Caught 151 passes in his career, shattering Pat Chaffey’s school record for receptions by a running back (124). His 4,929 all-purpose yards rank sixth in school annals behind his brother James Rodgers (5,784) and Ken Simonton (5,606). Is one of just three players in Beaver history to account for 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in a career. In 36 games with the Beavers, rushed for 3,877 yards on 788 carries with 46 touchdowns. His 3,877 yards rank sixth in Pac-10 Conference history behind Charles White (6,245; 1976-79) and Marcus Allen of USC (4,810; 1978-81), Ken Simonton (5,044; 1998-01), Darrin Nelson of Stanford (4,169; 1977-81) and Napoleon Kaufman of Washington (4,106; 1991-94). Was named the Pac 10 Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2008 after posting 1,253 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, while adding 247 yards and one touchdown on 29 receptions. Gained 186 yards with two touchdowns on 37 carries in OSU’s 27-21 upset victory over the top ranked USC Trojans in 2008, earning conference offensive player of the week honors for his performance. Set a school record with 21 rushing touchdowns as a junior in 2009 and rushed for a career high 1,440 yards, while adding 78 receptions for 522 yards and one touchdown.

Personal

Rodgers was a standout tailback and safety for Lamar Consolidated High School (Richmond, Tx.) where he earned the nickname “Mr. Touchdown” from his teammates after setting a Texas record for scoring with 136 touchdowns, while his 8,245 career rushing yards were the sixth-highest total in state history. Finished his career ranking second all-time in Texas high school annals with 41 100-yard rushing performances, including 21 200-yard games. As a senior, rushed for 2,902 yards and 43 touchdowns while leading his Mustangs squad to a 13-2 overall record and their first ever state title. Named the inaugural Texas Associated Press Player of the Year and the Texas Sports Writers Association 4A Offensive Player of the Year in his senior season. Also garnered several national honors, including first-team EA Sports High School All-American and 2008 Parade All-American, as well as Old Spice Red Zone and Built Ford Tough Player of the Year awards for Texas. A Richmond, TX native, family includes his mother Tasha Williams and three siblings. Has devoted time to speak about the dangers of drugs at elementary schools in the Richmond area.
