Cornerback Asante Samuel, who did not participate in practice all week while nursing a shoulder injury, will start for the Falcons Thursday night in their prime time showdown against the Saints.

The Falcons improved to 10-1 on the season, winning their second divisional game in Sunday's 24-23 outing. The run game on both sides of the ball was the priority and the Falcons effectively ran the ball stopped the run in Sunday's winning effort.

Wide receiver Julio Jones continued his success on the road this season with a six-catch, 147-yard performance with a career-long 80-yard touchdown reception. All six of Jones' touchdown catches have come during away games.

Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon missed Atlanta’s last three games with an ankle injury, but showed up in force Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. He had six tackles and his presence was felt tremendously in containing Tampa Bay’s superb running game.
