Selected as a fifth round (138th pick overall) draft choice by Atlanta in 2008. Signed to the Falcons practice squad on September 6, 2009 and was elevated to the 53-man roster on December 29, 2009.

Was signed to the active roster for the regular season finale at Tampa Bay (1/3) where he saw action on special teams.

COLLEGE

Started 19 of 42 games during his career at Arizona State, recording 174 tackles (102 solo), 5.5 sacks, 20 tackles for loss and five INTs. Earned All-America and All-Pac 10 Conference honors during his senior campaign. Helped the Sun Devils improve from a total defensive ranking of 51st in the nation in 2006 to 30th nationally in 2007 allowing 345.2 yards per game.

PERSONAL

Attended Maryvale High School (Arizona), lettering four times in football and twice in track. Earned second-team all-city honors as a DB and first-team accolades as a RB. Has one son, Robert James III.
