Signed by the Falcons as a free agent on July 29, 2011.
CAREER
Enjoyed breakout season in 2009 with career- best 8.5 sacks, 75 tackles (50 solo), three passes defensed, nine tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
In 2009, tied a Vikings playoff record with three sacks in a Divisional round game vs. Dallas (1/17) and set a Vikings record for most playoff sacks with four.
Was part of a Vikings line that keyed the defense to rank first in the NFL in rushing defense from 2006-08 and ranked second in the Leauge in 2009.
Showcased playmaking abilities in 2007 when he tied for team lead with four forced fumbles and scored his first career touchdown on a nine- yard fumble recovery at Detroit (9/16).
Made his presence felt as a rookie in 2006 playing in 15 games with two starts and posting three sacks.

Notched 37 tackles (28 solo), eight sacks and two passes defensed in 14 games.
Posted a season-high seven tackles (five solo) and 1.5 sacks at the New York Jets (10/11).
Logged three tackles (three solo) and two sacks against Arizona (11/7).
Tied his season-high with two sacks against Green Bay (11/21). Also added three tackles.

Finished his career tied for 7th on Purdue’s career sacks list with 16.0 and 15th with 24.5 tackles for loss.
Played in 36 games with 18 starts during his three years with the Boilermakers.
Named to Bronko Nagurski and Ted Hendricks’ Defensive End of the Year watch lists as a junior in 2005.
Ranked second on the team as a junior with 11.0 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Honorable Mention All-Big Ten choice by coaches and the media in 2004.
Tied for team lead and tied for second in the Big Ten with eight sacks.
PERSONAL
Was a 1st-team All-State selection and was named conference’s Player of the Year at Woodward High in Cincinnati.
Mentored local students at Summitt Academy, working with them on classwork and social interaction.
Majored in physical education and owns a T-shirt company.
