Falcons receiver Julio Jones to make his preseason debut vs. the Cardinals

ATLANTA – Falcons receiver Julio Jones will make his preseason debut Saturday night against the Arizona Cardinals.

After evaluating a week of practice, Falcons coach Dan Quinn has decided that Jones, along with receiver Taylor Gabriel, will play in the Falcons' home opener – the first game being played in the brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

A 7 p.m. ET kickoff is scheduled.

Also noteworthy, Wes Schweitzer will get the start at right guard when the Falcons' offense take the field for the first time. Although Schweitzer will start the game with the first-team offense, he'll split snaps at this position with Ben Garland.

Schweitzer and Garland are the two players in the running to be named the team's No. 1 starting right guard. Garland started Atlanta's first preseason game at Miami and Schweitzer started the second game in Pittsburgh.

The competition between Garland and Schweitzer has been one of the most intriguing battles at camp with both impressing head coach Dan Quinn.
