The Falcons have hired Greg Knapp as their quarterbacks coach

ATLANTA – The Falcons have found their new quarterbacks coach: Greg Knapp.

Knapp comes to Atlanta after serving as the Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach from 2013 to 2016. He will replace Bush Hamdan, who left after the season to be the offensive coordinator at the University of Washington.

This will be Knapp’s second stint in Atlanta; he was the offensive coordinator for the Falcons from 2004-2006.

Knapp has ties to head coach Dan Quinn from their days in Seattle when Knapp was the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks in 2009. At the time, Quinn was the Seahawks’ assistant head coach/defensive line coach. Both Knapp and Quinn were also on the San Francisco 49ers coaching staff in the early 2000s.

Knapp was also the Texans’ offensive coordinator when Falcons backup quarterback Matt Schaub was the starter in Houston. He also was Peyton Manning’s quarterback coach when the Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl in 2016.
