Ryan Up for Two NFL Weekly Awards

After a spectacular, gutsy performance in a 30-28 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, quarterback Matt Ryan is up for two weekly NFL awards and will need your fan votes to win.

Ryan is up for the Air Player of the Week award, along with New England's Tom Brady and Denver's Peyton Manning. Ryan completed 25-of-40 passes for 369 yards — four shy of a career high for the fifth-year signal-caller — and three touchdowns. Ryan's 59-yard bomb to Roddy White on the final drive from his own end zone put the Falcons in position to win the game.

For that same final drive that led to the win, Ryan is also up for the Never Say Never Moment of the Week award. Sacked seven times in Sunday's game, all appeared lost in the final minute as Ryan would start from his own 1-yard line down by a point with no timeouts left, but Ryan delivered another stunning fourth-quarter comeback, beginning with the pass to White. A few more plays later and Ryan's offense had set up kicker Matt Bryant for the game-winning field goal.
