Ryan Named NFC's Offensive Player of Week

For his 273-yard, three-touchdown performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, quarterback Matt Ryan has been named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Atlanta’s 31-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7.
Ryan completed 20-of-26 passes (76.9 percent) for 273 with three touchdowns and a career-high 148.4 passer rating in an eight-point victory over the NFC South rival Buccaneers. His quarterback rating was the highest single-game mark by any passer in 2013 and was the second-highest single-game rating in franchise history.
In his career, Ryan has led the Falcons to an 18-1 (.947) record when he throws three-or-more touchdown passes and a 34-2 (.944) record when his quarterback rating is 100-or-higher. The sixth-year signal caller has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 12 straight games and has thrown multiple scores in nine of his last 10 games, including all six games this season.
In 2013, Ryan has completed 171 of 244 passes (70.1 percent) for 1,922 yards with 13 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 105.9 passer rating. He ranks third in the NFL in completion percentage and quarterback rating, fifth in completions, and seventh in touchdowns and passing yards. Additionally, Ryan is averaging 320.3 passing yards per game, which ranks third in the NFL.
This is the fourth time in his career that Ryan has earned player of the week honors. He was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 9 of the 2008 season, Week 14 of the 2011 season, and Week 16 of the 2012 season.
