Falcons' Preseason Schedule Unveiled

The Falcons' four preseason games of the 2013 season have been released, including a Week 2 trip to visit the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens

The Atlanta Falcons today announced their 2013 preseason schedule which includes home contests against Cincinnati on Thursday, August 8 and Jacksonville on Thursday, August 29 and road meetings at Baltimore and Tennessee. CBS Atlanta will broadcast three of the Falcons four preseason games in 2013 as the team’s official broadcast partner. The Falcons preseason opener against Cincinnati will be broadcast nationally on ESPN on Thursday, August 8 at 8:00 p.m.
 
The Falcons will open the 2013 preseason at the Georgia Dome with a nationally televised game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday August 8. Atlanta and Cincinnati last met in the preseason in 2012, with the Bengals taking a 24-19 victory at the Georgia Dome. The two clubs have met 11 times in the preseason and the Falcons lead the all-time series 6-5.  The Falcons will face the Baltimore Ravens for the eighth time in the last 10 years including a 31-17 Ravens win at the Georgia Dome last year. The Falcons trail 6-4 in the all-time preseason series and head coach Mike Smith owns a 2-2 preseason record against the Ravens.
 
The Falcons and Titans have met five times in the preseason with Atlanta holding a 3-2 lead in the all-time series. The last time the two clubs clashed during the preseason was a 17-3 Titans win at the Georgia Dome in 2008. The Falcons also played the Houston Oilers twice during the preseason in 1974 and 1991. Atlanta will close out preseason play against Jacksonville for the third time in the last four years on Thursday, August 29. The Falcons will battle the Jaguars for the fourth straight season and the 10th time in the preseason. The Falcons fell to the Jaguars, 24-14 in 2012 and trail 6-3 in the all-time preseason series.
