The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation is pleased to announce the following 2010 grants:
$3,000 to provide physical fitness equipment to the top two schools in conjunction with the Fuel Up To Play 60 ticket campaign in Georgia.
$120,000 (over two years) to increase access to healthy, nutritious foods in underserved Georgia communities through a healthy food financing campaign and an urban farming site offering experiential learning.
$5,000 to provide the Centre Dance program to K-5 students at Parklane Elementary School in East Point during the 2010-11 school year.
$50,000 (over two years) for the Kilometer Kids running program, which serves more than 2,000 youth across Falcons Fitness Zone neighborhoods.
$500 to provide football equipment through the 2010 Salute to High School Football Luncheon.
$73,300 to provide HOPSports Training Systems to the five school districts leading the S.H.A.P.E. Act pilot effort and to test Brain Breaks, a new HOPSports product, in two other school districts in Georgia.

$2,500 to provide scholarships for at least 25 teachers from Title I schools to attend the ‘School Wellness: The Cornerstone of Academic Achievement’ conference.
$1,500 to provide 20 adult registrations to the 1st Annual World Fitness Day event.
$5,000 to help the Westside Health & Wellness Collaborative prepare and submit an application for federal funding through the Promise Neighborhood grant program.
$5,000 to expand programming of the Mobile Fitness Gym to schools, nonprofits and neighborhood sites, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County sites.
$34,000 (over two years) to increase access to nutritious, locally grown food for Georgia families, including Falcons Fitness Zone children.
$10,500 to help the East Lake Farmers Market accept SNAP benefits, and to incentivize the purchasing of healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables by doubling the value of SNAP benefits at the market.
$1,640 to provide transportation for the After-School All-Stars to attend the SORBA Trips for Kids mountain biking program in summer 2010.
$10,000 to launch the Camp Carrot Seed project, engaging at least 50 Falcons Fitness Zone students in organic gardening and providing a source of food for City of Refuge families.
$20,000 to provide two HOPSports training systems for after-school and summer programs at two middle school sites.
$10,600 to provide at least 320 Falcons Fitness Zone kids with summer and after-school tennis instruction and programming during the 2010-11 school year, and to produce the Atlanta Circle Cup event at Washington Park in summer 2010.
$10,000 to operate the Sporting Chance program, which features Double Dutch jump roping for 300 girls served through the Marietta Center and Ivy Preparatory Academy.
$50,000 (over two years) to operate a sports-equipment donation program for Georgia nonprofits in order to increase youth participation in physical activity.
$5,228 to provide shipping of sports equipment to the first round of grantees.
$500 to provide football equipment through the 2010 Salute to High School Football Luncheon.
$5,000 to provide program fees for kids at Whitehead Boys & Girls Club to participate in Flippin’ For Life during the 2010-11 school year.
$15,000 for the youth sports league engaging more than 180 KIPP students, along with students at other charter and independent schools.
$50,000 to launch in-school and after-school Falcons Fitness Zone programming at Peachtree Hope Charter School.
$12,500 to provide scholarships for up to 200 kids drawn from current Fitness Zone partners to attend a Kids & Pros week-long camp held at Clark Atlanta University in summer 2010.
$25,000 to launch the Westside Health & Wellness Collaborative, which will connect elementary school students and their families to health screenings and follow up health services.
$15,000 for the Stepping Stones dance and leadership training program reaching more than 140 youth across Fitness Zone neighborhoods.
$1,000 to provide football equipment through the 2010 Salute to High School Football Luncheon.
$12,000 to stimulate more neighborhood parks groups to engage children in outdoor activities in city parks.
$2,500 to provide at least 20 one-week scholarships to the Park’s summer camp program, EnviroVentures which emphasizes outdoor activities.
$500 to provide football equipment through the 2010 Salute to High School Football Luncheon.
$6,000 to provide ‘The Power of Play & Group Management 1′ training to FFZ partner staff.
$15,000 to provide training and technical assistance to 400 staff members and 30-60 teens from Falcons Fitness Zone grant partners in and around the Atlanta Metro region through a series of 11 workshops.
$3,000 to provide support for Wellness Festivals at Morehouse College and at Hopewell Baptist Church, providing children, teens and adults with health screenings, nutrition education and physical activity.
$5,000 to provide at least 16 Hall County Fitness Zone kids and 16 Atlanta Fitness Zone kids with a series of mountain bike rides in summer 2010.
