The Atlanta Falcons are pleased to continue their partnership with UnitedHealthcare of Georgia as the title sponsor of the 2013 Atlanta Falcons Rookie Club. In its fifth year, the Atlanta Falcons Rookie club will coordinate several of its community appearances with UnitedHealthcare of Georgia.

Fishing with the Falcons - May 22, 2013
On Wednesday, May 22nd, the Atlanta Falcons Rookie Club set sail for the sixth annual Fishing with the Falcons on Lake Lanier in Buford, Georgia. The rookies took time to cast a line and pay tribute to wounded military veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Coaches and veteran players joined the rookies for this fun day on the lake. Players competed in a fishing contest with their boats and were awarded prizes at the end of the evening. The rookies had a great time with the military veterans and are looking forward to resuming their Rookie Club visits after training camp
5th Annual Rookie Club Dinner – May 23, 2013
The 2013 Atlanta Falcons Rookie Club, presented by UnitedHealthcare, kicked off their 5th annual Rookie Club Dinner at Atlanta Athletic Club on May 23rd, 2013. Thirty one rookies are a part of the program this year and are excited for a summer of giving back. Chris Millman, community relations and youth programs manager, set the tone for the guys by explaining the importance of The Rookie Club and the emphasis the Atlanta Falcons puts on community outreach. Several guests and clients attended on behalf of UnitedHealthcare, and the Falcons presented UnitedHealthcare with a commemorative locker to celebrate the 5th season of the Rookie Club. In support of the 2013 rookie class, former Rookie Club members Matt Bosher, and Jonathan Massaquoi attended to motivate the new rookies and let them know how Rookie Club made their first season as an NFL player even more rewarding.
UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation Bowling Event – June 3, 2013
UnitedHealthcare hosted a bowling tournament at 300 Atlanta for its Children’s Foundation on June 3rd, 2013. The Rookies had a great time bowling with each lane and meeting the Miracle Child of the night. In support of the rookies, several veteran players attended as well including Garrett Reynolds, Kevin Cone, Josh Vaughn, Jonathan Massaquoi, Joe Hawley, and Corey Peters. The players enjoyed bowling, signing autographs and a little friendly competition.
Grill with the Falcons – June 15, 2013
Saturday, June 15, The Atlanta Falcons hosted the First Annual "Grill with the Falcons" Built by The Home Depot. The mid-afternoon event, hosted at the Mall of Georgia in Buford, Georgia, celebrated the fan tradition of tailgating in a festival environment. A portion of the proceeds were donated to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Rookies were able to interact with some of their biggest fans while enjoying live music, games, and lots of great food. Coach Smith and Falcons players hosted their own tailgates alongside event attendees and also competed in the “Celebrity Division” of the Tailgate Cook-off. Winning it all was Coach Smith, followed by the Defensive Backs who raised the most funds for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Rookie Robert Alford was proud to be a part of the winning group.
Rookie Club Kickoff Event with UHC Volunteers - September 10, 2013
Rookie Club members, 12 veteran players, and upwards of 75 volunteers from UnitedHealthcare traveled to Gainesville, Georgia Tuesday September 10 to partner with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank to lend a helping hand. Players and volunteers alike packed thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items for delivery and packed them onto truck for transport. The items where hand delivered to senior citizens at St. Johns Baptist Church and the Senior Life Center in Gainesville, Ga. The players enjoyed meeting residents of the area and supporting UnitedHealthcare’s “Do Good. Live Well” program.
Hospital Visit / Shepherd's Center – September 24, 2013
On Tuesday September 24, the Rookie Club members visited the Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta, Ga. The players took pictures, signed autographs, and talked with the patients. The Shepherd’s Center treats patients who have suffered from serious spinal cord and brain injuries. The Rookies were truly inspired by each patient’s remarkable hope and perseverance.
Hometown Huddle: Open Hand Atlanta – October 22, 2013
The Rookie Club presented by UnitedHealthcare spent the morning of Tuesday, October 22 preparing meals for those in need. Open Hand Atlanta provides medically-appropriate meals, nutrition education and therapy to homebound seniors and underserved individuals challenged by chronic disease. Malliciah Goodman, Zeke Motta, Adam Replogle, Kemal Ishmael, Saeed Lee, Ryan Schraeder, Joplo Bartu, Levine Toilolo, Seth Doege, Sean Renfree, Paul Worrilow, Darius Johnson, Terren Jones and Chase Thomas prepared and packed meals in the Open Hands Atlanta kitchen in downtown Atlanta.
Project Sunshine at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta – November 5, 2013
On Tuesday November 5th, UnitedHealthcare volunteers, Project Sunshine, and the Atlanta Falcons Rookie Club joined forces again to give several patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite an unforgettable afternoon of memories and smiles. Players took part in everything from arts and crafts to air hockey to the tattoo station and more. The players gave each patient a special Atlanta Falcons teddy bear and posed for photos. The players thoroughly enjoyed their time brightening the children’s day.
Crossroads Community Ministries – December 17, 2013
The Atlanta Falcons Rookie Club got into the holiday spirit by visiting Crossroads Community Ministries. Here they prepared, plated, and served a meal for upwards of 200 guests. After they served the meal and ensured that everyone had received food, the Rookies sat down to mingle with guests and spread some Holiday cheer.
