The Captain in the Community presented by Russell Athletic program recognizes outstanding varsity high school football student-athletes around the State of Georgia that demonstrate strong leadership skills both on and off the field. This program encourages these student-athletes to continue to be leaders in their communities.

Each high school football season, the Falcons honor 10 varsity football student-athletes who excel on the field, in the classroom and in their communities. The winners are selected by members of the USA Football staff. In order to be considered a Falcons Captain in the Community presented by Russell Athletic, the student-athlete must meet the following criteria:

• 3.0 or higher grade point average
• Voluntary community service record (i.e. camp instructor, participation in school food drive/toys for tots program, mission trips, visits to nursing homes/hospitals, involvement with Boys & Girls Club/YMCA programs or other service projects.)

All Captains in the Community presented by Russell Athletic are listed on atlantafalcons.com/community and  their school receives a $1000 grant in the student-athlete’s name to support future community initiatives.

• Nicholas Rea, a defensive end at Duluth High School in Duluth, GA
• Trent Van Pelt, an offensive/defensive lineman at Fellowship Christian High School in Roswell, GA
• Blake Roberts, a running back/cornerback at West Forsyth High School in Cumming, GA
• Jahkeem Forrester, an offensive tackle at Mount Zion High School in Jonesboro, GA
• Joseph Scelfo, an offensive lineman at North Oconee High School in Bogart, GA
• Jay Dawahare, a quarterback at St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School in Columbus, GA
• Cameron Sutton, a wide receiver/cornerback at Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, GA
