ATLANTA FALCONS RECOGNIZE VETERANS DAY AND HONOR MILITARY WITH A “SALUTE TO SERVICE”

Flowery Branch, GA – The Atlanta Falcons will continue its long history of honoring veterans and active duty members of the military with a “Salute to Service” campaign this Sunday, November 13. 

The NFL has designated November as military appreciation month, which is designed to unify and elevate the military appreciation work of the League and its clubs.

The Falcons will honor the military on Sunday with a number of special ceremonies.

• “Salute to Service” banners displayed throughout the sidelines.
• Pregame video messages to veterans from Owner and Chairman Arthur Blank, General Manager Thomas Dimitroff, Head Coach Mike Smith and Falcons players.
• Special Joint Forces Color Guard.
• Large American Flag unfurled by 80 members of National Guard.
• National Anthem by Jeffrey Simmons of Georgia Army National Guard.
• Special halftime featuring: “Tribute to Heroes” videos from World War II veterans, on field ceremony with 52 WWII veterans escorted by National Guard, with 21 gun salute and taps for past fallen heroes, and a 61,000 piece card spectacle involving all fans seated in the stadium to thank all veterans for their service.

Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats to play a big role in the military appreciation at halftime as they help unveil special seat cards to honor all military veterans and be a part of the ceremony by actively participating.
