COLLEGE

Started 39 of 53 games for the Hokies as a mainstay in Virginia Tech's secondary and was credited with 263 tackles (150 solos), 26 passes defensed, two fumble recoveries, one sack and 10 interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns.

Made successful move to cornerback as a junior after excelling at free safety during his sophomore campaign.

Unanimous All-American and All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team choice as a senior after starting every game at left cornerback and tallying 44 tackles, six passes defensed, one interception and one sack in 13 games.

Shifted to boundary cornerback his junior season, starting every game and ranking fourth on the team with 60 tackles. Led the Atlantic Coast Conference with five interceptions for 81 yards in returns and a touchdown. Also deflected 14 passes and returned a punt 14 yards.

Started every game at free safety as a sophomore, finishing second on the team with a career-high 114 tackles. Also recovered two fumbles and deflected five passes. Gained 83 yards on two interceptions with a touchdown.

PERSONAL

Attended Bethel (Hampton, VA) High School as a senior after playing football the previous three seasons at Hampton (VA) High School. Competed at quarterback, safety, wide receiver and outside linebacker. Earned All-Peninsula District honors as a junior and senior, adding first-team honors in 2001.

Selected to the Newport News Daily Press All-Star team as a senior after collecting over 100 tackles, seven interceptions, two sacks and two touchdowns as a safety and linebacker. On offense, he compiled over 1,000 yards of total offense as a quarterback, passing for five touchdowns and rushing for six.

Posted 86 tackles and four interceptions as a junior in addition to eight catches for 217 yards with three touchdowns.
