Born: Atlanta, GA
Current hometown: Lawrenceville, GA
High School (name/city/state): Parkview H.S. Lilburn, GA
Colleges and Degrees: University of Alabama (Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Mathematics), Walden University (Masters of Science in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment)
Dance and Cheerleader Experience: I was a Varsity competition and football cheerleader for my high school, and I also cheered and danced competitively for the Atlanta Jayhawks. I was a UCA instructor for the southeast for 7 years. I’m beginning my 5th year of coaching my high school cheerleaders, and I’ve been a Georgia Force Cheerleader for 2 years.
Other life, scholastic or career accomplishments or experiences: In 1998 my high school team won the State Championship for competitive cheerleading for 5A. I was recognized as Georgia Veteran of the Year twice as a UCA instructor, and I was recently recognized as Teacher of the Month for February 2008.
Long-Term Goals: I would eventually like to earn my doctorate in education and continue to grow as an influential teacher. I would also like to be happily married, have a family and a successful career….basically, I want it all!
Marital Status: Single, but happily involved.
Siblings: 1 older brother, Robbie and 1 older sister, Kimberly
Pets (name and type): I want a cute little Yo Chon (yorkie-bichon mix) puppy, but my brother doesn’t want pets in the house.
My proudest moment: During my first year of teaching and my first year of coaching at a brand new 5A school, I coached my girls to the State championship where we had a top 10 finish. None of my cheerleaders had ever made it to State before, and it was an amazing feeling to know that I had coached them to such an exciting level. I felt like a proud momma of 16 girls!
Something my teammates don’t know about me: When I was in the 7th grade I was a Level 8 All-Around State Champion gymnast. I competed as a Level 9 for several years, and then I decided to start cheering….and I haven’t stopped ever since!
