The Atlanta Falcons today named Glenn Pires the team’s new linebackers coach and retained Billy “White Shoes” Johnson as assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Falcons linebacker Keith Brooking knows the importance of the running game, especially when it comes to stopping the Titans -- the league's second-best rushing offense. "We’ve got to be great on first down and not allow them to establish a run," he said.
As the Falcons prepare for the 2007 season, their first exposure to the new coaching staff assembled by Bobby Petrino will be in the weight room during offseason workouts which begin on March 19.
