FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons today placed center Rob Bruggeman on practice squad-injured and signed offensive lineman Blake Schlueter to the practice squad.
Schlueter, 6-2, 279 pounds, was originally selected by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft, but was waived following training camp. A graduate of TCU, he earned All-Mountain West Conference recognition during each of his three seasons as a starter. Schlueter helped the Horned Frogs to a 30-9 overall record, three bowl wins and two top-25 finishes in the Associated Press final rankings. Last season as a senior, he was named a first-team all-conference selection starting in all 13 games and blocking for a TCU rushing attack that ranked 12th in the nation with a 220.2 yards per game average.
Bruggeman was signed by the Falcons as a free agent on September 8, 2009 after previously being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
