FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons today signed running back Aaron Stecker and released wide receiver Troy Bergeron.
Stecker, 5-10, 213 pounds, was signed by the Falcons earlier this season on October 27 and was released by the team for a brief period being re-signed today. In two games this season against New Orleans (Week 8) and Washington (Week 9), the Western Illinois graduate accumulated two carries for six yards and five receptions for 34 yards. Now into his 10th NFL season, Stecker has totaled 383 carries for 1,517 yards and eight touchdowns while contributing with 166 receptions for 1,445 yards and three scores.
Bergeron, a three-year veteran of the AFL’s Georgia Force (2005, 2007-08), was signed by the Falcons on May 10, 2009 and earned a spot on the practice squad following training camp. He was elevated to the 53-man roster for Atlanta’s contest against Carolina last Sunday.
