FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Falcons fans throughout the state have a new way to show their support of their favorite NFL team while also helping to fight youth obesity in Georgia.

The Atlanta Falcons today announced the availability of Atlanta Falcons Georgia special interest license plates for commercial and personal vehicles registered in the state. Ten dollars of each special tag annual fee for plates will be donated to the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation.

"We are proud to offer another way for Falcons fans to show support for their football team," said Atlanta Falcons President Rich McKay. "Beyond displaying a connection to their team on the back of their vehicles, they’ll also be joining our fight to combat childhood obesity in Georgia by contributing to a series of youth fitness and educational programs funded by the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation."

The Falcons special interest license plate features the team’s logo and the letters "AF" as the first two letters of the tag number. A sample of the license plate, along with ordering instructions, may be viewed on atlantafalcons.com/licenseplates. The license plates will be manufactured and available at local tag offices no later than November 1, 2009.

Fans purchasing a Falcons special interest plate will pay a one-time $25 manufacturing fee and an annual $25 special tag fee in addition to their normal fees and taxes. Information regarding normal fees and taxes may be obtained by calling (404) 968-3800 or e-mailing motorvehicleinquiry@dor.ga.gov.
