Team releases Russell Training Camp schedule

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Atlanta Falcons will hold their 2009 training camp sponsored by Russell at the team’s Flowery Branch headquarters for the fifth consecutive year. Atlanta’s 44th training camp will have select morning and afternoon practices open to the public from August 1 – August 14.
 
The Falcons will hold 28 practices at the training facility, which includes 12 two-a-day sessions. Atlanta will travel to Detroit for the preseason opener on August 15 and will battle St. Louis on the road the following week on August 21. The Falcons will return to the Georgia Dome to host San Diego in a prime time showdown on August 29 and will conclude the preseason on their home turf with a match-up against Baltimore on September 3.
 
Atlanta will again feature Allstate All-Access Weekend for Falcons fans, which includes a team scrimmage at Brookwood High School on Friday, August 7 and a mock game at the Georgia Dome on Saturday, August 8. Children ages 17 and under will have the chance to experience Falcons Youth Weekend on August 1 and 2. Kids will have the opportunity to obtain Atlanta Falcons cheerleader autographs, “look like a pro” and enter to win prizes. Falcons players will also sign autographs following practices which are open to the public.
