FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Atlanta Falcons today re-signed defensive end Chauncey Davis to a four-year contract.

Davis, 6-2, 274 pounds, is a four-year veteran who was originally selected by the Falcons in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He has competed in 64 career games (10 starts) and has contributed with 147 tackles (104 solo), eight sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, seven fumble recoveries and three passes defensed. In 2008, Davis set season highs with four sacks and three fumble recoveries. In a Week 12 meeting against Carolina, he dropped Panthers’ quarterback Jake Delhomme on two occasions, marking his first career multiple-sack game.
