FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Atlanta Falcons qualified for the 2008 National Football League playoffs this past Sunday with a 24-17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome. The playoff berth is the first since the team advanced to the 2004 NFC Championship Game and ninth in the club’s 43-year history.
“We are excited for our fans that we have qualified to return to the playoffs,” said Falcons President Rich McKay. “This achievement is representative of an organization built around a team of players and coaches who have played with commitment, energy, and tenacity throughout the season.”
At noon Tuesday, season ticket holders began renewing their playoff tickets. The deadline to renew is Monday, December 29th at 5:00 p.m. (EST).
