Ryan is up for the award for the third time this season. He was nominated after the Birds' Week 1 and Week 3 wins. Last week at Green Bay he completed 16 of 26 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. He set early career highs in passing yards and touchdowns in the game with one touchdown throw coming on fourth-and-goal at the Packers 1-yard line.

Smith moved to 3-2 as an NFL head coach with Sunday's win. The victory was the first on the road for the Falcons this season. Wide receiver Roddy White posted 132 receiving yards and a touchdown in the first half, running back Michael Turner rushed for 121 yards and a score and the Birds' defense sacked Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers twice. All three of punter Michael Koenen's punts landed inside the 20-yard line as the Falcons left Lambeau Field with an upset win.
