FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons today signed free agent tight end George Cooper and waived running back Jamar Brittingham.
Cooper, 6-5, 266 pounds, spent the entire 2007 campaign on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad after being signed by the team on June 22, 2007. A graduate of Georgia Tech, Cooper competed in 33 games for the Yellow Jackets while contributing with nine receptions for 113 yards and one touchdown.
Brittingham, 6-0, 216 pounds, was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 28, 2008. The Bloomsburg University alum is the all-time leading rusher and scorer in school and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference history with 5,689 yards.
