Quarterback Matt Ryan

Q: What are your thoughts on being the future quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons?
A: “It’s exciting to be a Falcon! I was pumped up when I received the phone call, and I just can’t wait to get to Atlanta.”

Q: What are your thoughts on being the new face of the franchise and playing for a team that had a chaotic previous season?

A:  “I’m excited about the opportunity. I’m going to come in and work as hard as I possible can and try to earn the respect of my teammates. Right now, that’s my sole focus.”

Q: What were your thoughts on the meeting with Coach Smith and Coach Mularkey?

A:  “I thought the meeting went well. They came up to BC (Boston College) and we had the opportunity to talk about football as well as the things that they do. I felt really comfortable throughout our meeting. I felt like I learned a lot from those guys and I’m looking forward to working with them in the next couple weeks.”

Q: What are your thoughts on the Falcons addressing issues within the offensive line and trading up for the 21st pick?

A: “I’m definitely pleased to know that they are addressing that issue. I’m excited to play with Sam (Sam Baker) and I’m excited to be his teammate. I can’t wait to meet him when I get to Atlanta in the next couple of weeks.”

Q: What are your thoughts on Atlanta’s offensive weapons?
A: “I’m exited to get to know the guys and work with them soon in the next few weeks. I can’t wait to meet them so we can all get on the same page and learn the offense together.”

Q: What are your thoughts on playing as a rookie in the NFL?
A:  “I’m excited for the challenge. I’m going to come down and do everything I can to play. That’s the competitor within me. Hopefully, I will listen, learn and pickup the offense as fast as possible.”
