FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons today signed three-year veteran tight end Jason Rader.
Rader, 6-4, 260 pounds, has competed in five career games (one start) all with the Miami Dolphins in 2006.
He was originally signed by the Falcons as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Marshall in 2004, but was released prior to the regular season.
In 2005, Rader was signed to the Dolphins practice squad for the remaining eight games of the season. He saw action in five games the following year in Miami, but spent the final eight games of the season on the team’s practice squad. In 2007, Rader was signed to the New England Patriots practice squad, but was released from the team on Sept. 30.
He started 22 of 25 games in his career at Marshall, catching 60 passes for 558 yards and five touchdowns.
