Falcons name Danna quality control coach

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons today named Joe Danna the team’s new Defensive Quality Control Coach.

Danna joins the Falcons coaching staff after spending one season (2007) as the Defensive Backs Coach for the James Madison Dukes. In 2006 he coached the Defensive Backs at Georgia Southern as well as recruiting the Atlanta area.

For four seasons (2003-2005), Danna was an Assistant Coach at Central Michigan. He coached the wide receivers and assisted on special teams in 2002 and 2005 and was the Safeties Coach from 2003-2004.

Danna was a Graduate Assistant at the University of Georgia and worked with NFL defensive backs, Jermaine Phillips (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Sean Jones (Cleveland Browns) and Bruce Thornton (Jacksonville Jaguars).

A graduate of Central Michigan, Danna lettered all four years as a wide receiver from 1995-1998. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Social Sciences with a Language Arts minor.
