Jones activated from practice squad

 

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons made a second group of roster moves Wednesday.

The team signed defensive end Kevin Huntley to the practice squad, activated defensive end Derrick Jones from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and signed linebacker Cameron Vaughn to the practice squad.

Offensive lineman Travis Leffew was also activated to the Kansas City Chiefs active roster from the Falcons practice squad.

Jones, 6-4, 282 pounds, was signed to the Falcons practice squad on Oct. 16, where he spent six weeks. He was released on Nov. 1 before being re-signed to the practice squad on Nov. 20. Jones was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers after finishing his collegiate football career at Grand Valley State.

Huntley spent eight weeks on the Falcons practice squad before being activated to the 53-man roster on Nov. 20. In four games, he totaled four tackles (three solo). Huntley was originally signed to the Falcons practice squad on Sept. 12.

Vaughn, 6-4, 241 pounds, was originally signed to the Denver Broncos as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2006 and spent his entire rookie campaign on the practice squad. This season, Vaughn was a member of the Arizona Cardinals practice squad before being released on Sept. 25. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he competed in 52 career games while totaling 239 tackles (121 solo) and seven sacks.
