FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Falcons placed offensive tackle Todd Weiner on injured reserve Thursday after the 10-year veteran underwent season-ending knee surgery.
Weiner started in seven games this season before suffering a knee injury in Atlanta’s Week 11 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was part of an offensive line that helped the Falcons accumulate 442 total yards of offense against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 and guided running back Warrick Dunn to his 28th career 100-yard performance in a victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9. In six seasons with the Falcons, Weiner has started 85 games and paved the way as Atlanta led the League in rushing for three straight seasons (2004-2006).
Weiner becomes the third Falcons offensive tackle this season to undergo season-ending knee surgery and the 12th player to be placed on injured reserve.
