FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Tuesday the Falcons announced the addition of offensive tackle Terrance Pennington to the active roster. Pennington joines the team after Renardo Foster was placed on injured reserve.
Foster, an undrafted rookie free agent from Louisville, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. He competed in six games, starting in two this season.
Pennington (6-7, 325 pounds) entered the league as a seventh-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills (216th overall) in 2006. He started the last nine games of the 2006 season at right tackle. He was cut by the Bills before the start of the 2007 season.
A two-year starter at the University of New Mexico, Pennington played his senior season at left tackle. He finished his career with 27 starts and totaled 127 knockdowns and 16 touchdown-resulting blocks. His father, Henry, was an offensive tackle with the Dallas Cowboys from 1978-1981.
