Head Coach Bobby Petrino

Q: Can you give us an update on some of the injured guys?
A: “(Chris) Crocker was out there today and he felt good. It’s a matter of how many weeks it takes before the injury can stop being sore after games. I think he’ll be ready to go full speed on Sunday. Dwayne Blakely took a lot of reps today. I thought he did a nice job and it was good to see that. He was into it and he was moving around well. Rod Coleman took more than he did yesterday. We still have to see how that develops. Todd Weiner was moving around really well and he said he felt good.”

On his system in relation to quarterback's completion percentage:
A: “You have to have the receivers catch the ball and make plays. You have to have a quarterback that knows where to move the ball. The offensive has to work together with their protection. Everyone has to work together and know where the ball is going.”

Talk about Joey Harrington making this system work:
A: “I like a guy who is really competitive. They have to do a nice job of leading the team and they have to understand defenses. They have to learn the system and know how to operate it. It’s working alright so far. I think the biggest key is getting some more wins and touchdowns.”

Q: Does Jerious Norwood give you that big-play ability?
A: “He has shown he can make big plays for us. We are working to get him more opportunities and more touches. I think he is still waiting to have that break-out game. We got him in a couple of situations last week where he had the chance to make a couple of big plays. I think he needs more touches.”

Q: How explosive can Norwood be?
A: “He is very explosive and there is no question about it. He has great hips and speed. When you get him in an open space, he’s a hard guy to tackle.”

Q: How is Norwood adapting to the new system from playing in a West Coast system?
A: “I don’t know much about the West Coast system. I’m not really sure what that system would have asked of him. He’s picking it up. You have to make sure you pick up the quarterback protection. You also have to have your carries and catches go up.”
