FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Falcons Head Coach Bobby Petrino and quarterback Joey Harrington have been nominated for two weekly awards for their role in the Falcons 26-16 win over the Houston Texans Sept. 30.

Petrino, who was nominated for Motorola Coach of the Week Tuesday morning, led the Falcons to their first win of the 2007 season and the first regular-season win of his head coaching career. Widely regarded as an offensive specialists, Petrino's team controlled the ball for more than 34 minutes against the Texans and, at one point, scored on six of seven possessions.

Petrino also won two coaches challenges, the second taking away a Texans touchdown that would have made it a one-score game late in the fourth quarter.
