ATLANTA -- Official game notes and injury reports straight from the Georgia Dome press box...

  • Head Coach Bobby Petrino earned his first NFL victory as a head coach with a 26-16 win over the Houston Texans.
  • Quarterback Joey Harrington picked up his 75th career touchdown pass when he found wide receiver Michael Jenkins in the back of the end zone with 1:13 remaining in the first quarter. The touchdown reception for Jenkins was his first of the season. Jenkins finished the day with two touchdown receptions, marking a career-high.
  • Jenkins tied his season long reception with a 29-yard catch in the first quarter on a pass from Harrington. Jenkins set the original season high when he caught a 29-yard pass from Harrington against the Carolina Panthers (9/23/07).
  • Harrington threw two touchdowns in the first half, which is the most in a game for the six-year veteran since Nov. 23, 2006 as a member of the Miami Dolphins.
  • Harrington completed 79.3 percent of his passes (23 of 29), which is the fourth-best total in a single game in franchise history. Harrington is fourth behind Steve Bartkowski who registered the top three totals.

  • Linebacker Stephen Nicholas recovered his first career fumble at the 10:13 mark in the second quarter. The Falcons retained field position at the Houston 34-yard line and tallied their second touchdown of the game to take a 17-7 lead.
  • Defensive end John Abraham recorded his fourth sack of the season when he dropped Texans quarterback Matt Schaub in the fourth quarter. Abraham leads the team in sacks and has recorded 61.5 for his career.
  • Kicker Morten Andersen split the uprights on four of five field goal attempts and contributed with two extra points. The last time he recorded four field goals in a game came on October 1, 2006 in a win against Arizona.
  • Running back Warrick Dunn posted a season-high 17-yard run in the third quarter and finished the game with 62 yards, also a season-high.
  • Following a 26-16 Falcons victory over the Houston Texans, Atlanta improved its record to 23-11 when leading at halftime and 28-3 when leading at the start of the fourth quarter since 2003.
  • For four consecutive regular season games, the Falcons defense has held their opponent scoreless on their opening drive.
  • A Morten Andersen field goal in the first quarter marked the first time the Falcons scored before their opponent in any regular season game this year.
  • BUMPS AND BRUISES: Rookie defensive tackleTrey Lewis, pressed into the starting lineup with the injuries to Jonathan Babineaux and Rod Coleman, was injured late in the fourth quarter. He left the game and did not return; he was replaced in the game by defensive tackle Josh Mallard.
