The Atlanta Falcons would like to recognize the following acts and programs to the Georgia Dome for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Sunday's game and Atlanta Falcons rally towels are presented by AT&T.

Pregame
Verizon Wireless HopeLine® Program

Verizon Wireless and the Atlanta Falcons are teaming up for the third year in a row to help Georgia’s victims of domestic violence.

Fans are invited to donate no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories to benefit victims of domestic violence through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program. Verizon Wireless volunteers will be manning HopeLine drop boxes at the Verizon Wireless tent on Falcons Landing for the following Falcons home football games:

  • Sept. 23, 2007 vs. the Carolina Panthers
  • Oct. 15, 2007 vs. the N.Y. Giants
  • Nov. 18, 2007 vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Dec. 10, 2007 vs. the New Orleans Saints

Through the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and to donate wireless phones with prepaid airtime to non-profit advocacy agencies and law enforcement agencies to aid survivors of domestic violence.

National Anthem
Jagged Edge

The platinum plaques, awards and pictures adorning the walls of Jagged Edge’s JOL Studios are testaments to the group’s permanent place in R&B history. And, with one listen to “Put A Little Umph’ In It,” the first single from Baby Making Project, their debut album on So So Def / Island Urban Music, its clear they’re also a part of its future.

Signed by Jermaine Dupri to his So So Def imprint through Columbia Records in the late 90’s, the Atlanta residents have enjoyed a decade of now-classic hits, such as “Gotta Be," “Promise," “Let’s Get Married” and the club hit “Where The Party At?” with Nelly.

However, Brandon, Brian, Wingo and Kyle are now embarking on a new journey.

They have a new label, new outlook and are anxious to bring what they feel is true R&B back to those thirsting for it.  After parting ways with their former record label and successfully launching several businesses -- a clothing line, soul food restaurant and a record label and 581 Musiz Group (which is releasing this album) -- they are back and ready to start anew with an old friend, Grammy-winning producer Dupri. Dupri is Def Jam’s President of Island Urban Music, who quickly signed the group to the venerable label.

Jagged Edge is excited about joining the Def Jam family and they are ready to show their music withstands the storms of fads and fickle tastes.

Baby Making Project is a first of its kind for the group.

“We originally wanted our first album to be all ballads,” Kyle said. “But Jermaine was like, 'What? Do you know how slow your concert will be?’ Everything now has a hip-hop edge, but we have decided to go against the grain.”

But don’t mistake this for an album only fit for the quiet storm.

“We tried to make this album fun, mood music,” adds Brandon, who shares lead vocals with Brian, his twin brother.

Jagged Edge pulls inspiration not only from the classic performers of the Motown era, but they are also motivated by the R&B greats of the late 80s, such as Keith Sweat and Guy. With their devotion to true soul music coupled with the growth they have experienced over the years, Jagged Edge knows that it’s their time once again.

Color Guard
Atlanta Fire & Rescue

The Atlanta Fire and Rescue Department Color Guard Unit was established in 1979. It has since been recognized with numerous awards and competition wins.

This nationally-recognized group of diverse, dedicated and committed men and women has performed professionally on many occasions in various parades, conventions, City of Atlanta activities, formal weddings, traditional active and retired firefighter funerals, AAU Track and Field Championship and at the 1996 Olympic Games. The Color Guard Unit has also presented the Colors in the pregame activities for the Georgia Force, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers.

Halftime
Warner Robins Little League World Series Champions

The Atlanta Falcons are pleased to welcome Georgia’s own Warner Robins American Little League Team consisting of a dozen 11- and 12-year-old boys to today’s game.

Before a crowd of more than 31,000 spectators, this team triumphantly defeated the Tokyo Kitasuna Little League team for the Little League World Series crown. For the second summer in a row, the Little League season ended with a team from Georgia sharing a victory lap around Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport, Penn. The previous two Georgia teams to advance to South Williamsport also won the title, including Columbus last year and East Marietta in 1983.

In preparation for the Atlanta Falcons home opener, the team will unveil a 15’x22’ replica Falcons jersey that will reside at Falcons Landing adjacent to the Georgia Dome during home games this season.

In a show of appreciation for fan support, the jersey features the No. 1 with the word “FANS” emblazoned across the back.

Characterized as the “world’s largest jersey,” Falcons fans and community supporters will have opportunities to sign the jersey at each home game throughout the season.  At the end of the season, the jersey will be given to a Falcons season ticket holder through a random drawing.

The Falcons will also recognize the little league team during halftime when the players and coaches will be presented with individual Atlanta Falcons autographed game balls.
