ATLANTA -- Official game updates as the Falcons take on the Bengals on Monday Night Football.
- The Georgia Dome atmosphere was electric for the first home preseason game, as the seating bowls filled out nicely for the prime time affair.
- Rookie defensive end Jamaal Anderson recorded his first sack as a professional when he dropped Bengals' quarterback Carson Palmer for a 7-yard loss on the Bengals' second offensive series with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter. - Tight end Alge Crumpler and running back Warrick Dunn also saw their first action in the preseason as the two both started and played through the second quarter.
- Quarterback Joey Harrington threw his first touchdown as a Falcon when he checked off his first two reads and found Adam Jennings running free and hit him in stride for a picture-perfect 28-yard strike.
- The 28-yard first-quarter touchdown catch was Jennings' first as a Falcon.
- Harrington was perfect in the first quarter, going 6-for-6 for 76 yards and a touchdown.
- BUMPS AND BRUISES: Dunn walked off gingerly with just over four minutes remaining in the first quarter after being tackled for a loss. Trainers were looking at his left ankle, and his status for the rest of the game is uncertain. Dunn did not appear to be seriously injured.
- For the third straight preseason game, the Falcons' defense shut out the opposing offense in the first quarter.
- BUMPS AND BRUISES: Starting safety Chris Crocker suffered a left knee sprain early in the second quarter. He left the field for further evaluation from medical staff, and he did not return to the game.

The second-year pro from Mississippi State broke a tackle and scampered down the sideline to find paydirt for his second score of the preseason.
- Midway through the second quarter, Harrington was a scintillating 8-of-9 for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Harrington finished the game completing 13-of-21 passes (62.0 pct.) for 164 yards, two touchdowns and a 118.0 quarterback rating.
