The Falcons moved to add size to the offensive line in the second round of the NFL Draft as Atlanta chose Texas G Justin Blalock at #39 overall.
Blalock (6-3, 320 pounds) set a school record as he started 51 consecutive games in his career. He manned the right tackle spot for 44 of those starts before he moved to right guard midway through his senior season.
Regarded as a big, strong drive blocker, he had a streak of 27 consecutive games without a quarterback sack allowed
