For Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader Jamie R., her journey to Hawaii and the NFC Pro Bowl cheerleader squad has been one she has enjoyed with her teammates and will remember for a long time.
In her own words:
Sunday, Feb. 4 - My first travel day started off rough because we had a five-hour delay, but luckily I had fellow cheerleaders Kerstin from New Orleans and Leslie from Baltimore with me. So we had some bonding time before we got to Hawaii, which was about 2 p.m. Atlanta time (9 p.m. Hawaii time). I then got to meet my amazing roommate, Stephane from Minnesota, who I actually had met before. I hit the sack pretty hard that night because I was going to have a long day on Monday.
Monday, Feb. 5 - Monday consisted of a 10-hour practice and three breaks for meals, but it was an exciting day because I got to meet all the Pro Bowl Cheerleaders. I was assigned my line for the game and I have the best one ever with Brooke (Arizona), Stephanie (Minnesota), Megan (Dallas), Kelly (Carolina) and Amanda (Philadelphia).
Tuesday, Feb. 6 - Well, we got more fun gifts this morning and started learning our pregame routines. Afterward, my line was off to the AMR Military Base for our first performance. We followed up with one of the best meals I've had at Duke's Restuarant. In the evening, we had a practice with the mascots, so I got to see our own Freddie the Falcon. Finally, I ended the night hanging out with Stephanie and Brooke on the beach. We realized how blessed we are to be here in Hawaii to represent our teams.
The rest of the week, with more practice and Friday's Ohana Day at Aloha Stadium, the promotions and the events, I had a blast here at the Pro Bowl. I have truly met some of the most amazing girls and most of all, my line group have become my best friends. We are already planning our five-year reunion back in Hawaii.
