Help the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation Support Local Charities
The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation is proud to partner with THE TOUR Championship, presented by Coca-Cola, and TICKETS Fore CHARITY, a fundraising program designed to generate revenue for local charities where PGA TOUR tournaments are held.

For tickets purchased through TICKETS Fore CHARITY, 100 percent of the net proceeds from the ticket sales will go to AFYF charity partners.  Half of the proceeds will benefit The First Tee of Atlanta, a program that provides learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf, and half will benefit the East Lake Foundation, which helps families create a better future and a stronger community through quality education, affordable housing and innovative programs that build strength now and for future generations.

Showing your support is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets to THE TOUR Championship on behalf of the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation.
  2. Select the quantity of tickets you would like to purchase (please note that only $150 weekly grounds ticket books are available through TICKETS Fore CHARITY).  Be sure to enter code AFF to help Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation support The First Tee and the East Lake Foundation.
  3. Provide payment information and you will receive a confirmation email, with your e-ticket attached, shortly thereafter.  Please be sure to print out this ticket and present it at the gate in order to gain entry!

The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation (AFYF) was established in 1985 to serve as the philanthropic arm of the Atlanta Falcons. Since Arthur Blank acquired the Atlanta Falcons in 2002, AFYF has grown to be the largest owner-funded foundation in the National Football League, providing more than $16 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across the state of Georgia.

Learn more about the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation in the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Annual Report.

Grant Focus Areas
AFYF is taking the issue of childhood obesity head on by investing in nonprofit organizations that are moving school-age kids to spend more time every day in organized physical activity. If you have questions, please contact Lea Bond at 770.965.2726 or LBond@falcons.nfl.com.

Falcons Fitness Zones
In Fall 2005, AFYF launched its Signature Program -- the Falcons Fitness Zones (FFZ). Through a partnership with the Metro Atlanta YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, the YWCA of Greater Atlanta, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County and other select organizations. This program seeks to raise the number of kids spending more time in organized physical activity year-round.

AFYF has committed nearly $2 million a year to increase opportunities for kids living in five neighborhoods designated as Falcons Fitness Zones. Through the Falcons Fitness Zones, the AFYF works with community partners to leverage existing physical fitness programs for youth, and enhance them through the strategic use of Atlanta Falcons resources.

2009 Grant Opportunities
For the first six months of 2009, AFYF will focus its grant making on strengthening programming within the Falcons Fitness Zones.  If you have an idea for the Falcons Fitness Zones, please review the Signature Program guidelines and consider submitting a letter of inquiry.

AFYF will also be considering new approaches to support youth-fitness efforts around the state of Georgia, outside of the Falcons Fitness Zones.  If your organization would like to share ideas or examples of novel and effective approaches to improving youth fitness, please send a two-page summary to LBond@Falcons.nfl.com.  These ideas will not be considered applications for funding and will not be reviewed for funding. The ideas may help AFYF shape its statewide grant making going forward.  AFYF is especially interested in hearing about two areas of work.

First, AFYF is interested in information on specific public schools in Georgia that are exceeding the state's minimums in delivering physical education.  Please include contact information for the principal and P.E. teacher in any submissions.

Second, AFYF is interested in hearing about ways that new equipment or supplies would expand opportunities to engage more kids in physical activities.  AFYF is open to examples involving any type of fitness equipment or supplies.  The critical feature is how the acquisition of equipment or supplies would increase the number of kids participating in physical activities.

Also in 2009, AFYF expects the National Football League to make at least one grant award for an athletic field development project.  Please review the Athletic Field Development guidelines for the latest information about this funding opportunity.

Falcons Fitness Zone Heroes
The Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation honors community partners who go the extra yard in their work advancing the AFYF mission to promote youth fitness and help get Georgia’s kids fit. The first class of Falcons Fitness Zones Heroes are leaders in their respective communities and organizations, and serve as models for the thousands of kids reached through Falcons Fitness Zones programming. Click here for more information (PDF)
