First Down for Fitness

 

Falcons First Down for Fitness is a two-month program (September 1 through October 30, 2009) designed to challenge third through seventh grade students throughout the State of Georgia to participate in fitness activities, eat healthy and lead a healthy lifestyle.  This incentive-based program rewards participants for being active at least 60 minutes a day, three days a week and   incorporates components of the NFL’s Play 60 program, the American Heart Association, and the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association’s (SUDIA) Fuel Up to Play nutrition program. 

Due to an overwhelming response, registration for the program is now closed.

INCENTIVES


HEALTY TIP OF THE WEEK
Each week during the program, students can visit www.atlantafalcons.com/firstdownforfitness to view special fitness and nutrition tips from their favorite Atlanta Falcons players and cheerleaders


PLAY 60
Participating teachers can visit www.americanheart.org/whatmovesu to download sample lesson plans, view classroom physical fitness activities and explore more great resources. Participating students can check out tips on staying active, watch videos and play games


FUEL UP TO PLAY

Participating schools can sign up online at www.fueluptoplay.org and receive a Fuel Up to Play Wellness Activation kit. Participating students can play fun games and learn more about eating healthy and staying fit.


NEW IN 2009
All schools that register for the Falcons First Down for Fitness program and would like to secure Freddie Falcon to come out and perform his P.L.A.Y. Book for Fitness program will be given the special rate of $350 (compared to the standard rate of $450).  This one-of-a-kind 40-45 minute assembly program is made up of energetic music, dancing and incorporates four healthy motivational topics -- P.L.A.Y. (Play 60 (minutes a day), Live healthy, Always eat right, You can do it!)  For booking information, click here.
